Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store, so something can be remembered from one page to the next. This policy lists every cookie this site can set, who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts — and, above all, when it is allowed to exist at all.

1. Nothing is set until you allow it

When you arrive, this website loads no analytics, no advertising tag and no cookie of any kind. Google's tag is not merely inactive: it is not on the page. The bar in the corner says so and offers you the choice.

The choice is recorded in your browser's local storage under the name lct-cookie-consent, together with the date and how it was given. That record is not a cookie, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and exists only so the site can remember what you decided.

No consent is required for this one: it exists only to honour the choice you made, and the law asks for technical storage of exactly this kind.

3. Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4

Once allowed, Google Analytics 4 (property G-4TF0PVTWFP) tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they come from. It is set to collect no more than that: no advertising features inside Analytics, and IP addresses shortened by Google before storage.

4. Advertising cookies — Google Ads

Once allowed, the Google Ads tag (AW-18378929379) lets us see which advertisements lead to an enquiry or a booking, and lets Google show our advertisements to people who have visited this site.

The two third-party cookies are set by Google's own domains, and only when your browser accepts third-party cookies at all — many now block them by default.

5. Loaded on every page, and cookieless

Google Fonts — the typefaces come from Google's servers, which receive your IP address. No cookie is set on that connection.
Our booking engine — the "Book online" links lead to lakecomotourismsrl.com, run on the Calerio platform: a different site, with its own cookies and its own policy. Nothing is set on your device until you go there.

6. Giving, refusing and withdrawing consent

Refuse: the Opt-out button on the bar. Nothing is loaded, and the bar does not come back.
Allow: continue to read the page. The bar disappears and the two Google tags load.
Change your mind: at the foot of every page there is a switch that reads *revoke cookie consent* or *allow cookies*, depending on where you stand. Revoking deletes the Google cookies from your browser straight away and closes Google's access to storage.

Consent Mode v2 is used throughout: even after the tags have loaded, every storage type stays denied until consent is granted, and returns to denied the moment it is withdrawn.

7. Managing cookies yourself

Whatever site you are on, your browser lets you see the cookies stored, delete them and refuse new ones — under Settings, in the Privacy section, in every major browser. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on any site with Google's own add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and control advertising personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
